Details on player-controllable submarines for the Meier Isles faction will be declassified here. (Content is placeholder).

Type VIIC U-boat

The workhorse of the German U-boat fleet, the Type VIIC was a formidable predator of the Atlantic. Balanced in range, armament, and maneuverability, it was a constant threat to Allied convoys.

Key Features:

  • 4 Bow Torpedo Tubes
  • 1 Stern Torpedo Tube
  • Deck Gun
  • Anti-Aircraft Gun
  • Hydrophone System

Type IX U-boat

A long-range U-boat designed for sustained operations far from home, including the American coast and South Atlantic. Larger and with more torpedoes than the Type VII, it sacrificed some maneuverability for endurance and firepower.

Key Features:

  • 4 Bow Torpedo Tubes
  • 2 Stern Torpedo Tubes
  • Increased Torpedo Capacity
  • Deck Gun
  • Extended Range

Type XVII U-boat

A small, experimental U-boat known for its revolutionary Walter hydrogen peroxide turbine propulsion system. This allowed for very high underwater speeds for short bursts, making it an incredibly difficult target to intercept if it could get into attack position.

Key Features:

  • Walter Turbine for High-Speed Underwater Sprints
  • 2 Bow Torpedo Tubes
  • Designed for Coastal Operations
  • Extremely Fast Submerged

Type XXI "Elektroboot"

A revolutionary design that arrived too late to affect the war. The Type XXI was the first submarine designed to operate primarily submerged. Its streamlined hull, high battery capacity, and snorkel allowed for high underwater speed and endurance, making it a true underwater hunter.

Key Features:

  • 6 Bow Torpedo Tubes with Hydraulic Reload System
  • High Submerged Speed
  • Greatly Increased Battery Capacity
  • Snorkel for Underwater Diesel Operation
  • Advanced Passive Sonar
